Hidden Mother is a psychological horror/thriller set in England during the heyday of the Victorian era. Class society held the country in its grip. Gender roles were firmly established and mental health wasn't an issue to concern oneself with. The film deals with themes surrounding post natal depression, class society, patriarchal expectations, and a remarkable historical phenomenon called hidden mother photography.
